Labor of Love from the Penn Family
Good Foods is the result from our labor of love!
Eleven years ago, my husband and founder of Good Foods, Kurt Penn, learned about a technology that could change how foods could be manufactured using clean, simple ingredients while also keeping foods safe and seal in freshness.
This process is also known as High Pressure Certification! It utilizes the power of cold water to eliminate food borne bacteria and keep our products safe for consumption, all while retaining their natural benefits. Our labor of love is making great tasting products that are safe, clean and provide you with the convenience to make great tasting meals that you and your family will love.
Gather your loved ones around the table with these tasty recipes:
Cheesy Smashed Potatoes
Ingredients:
- 1 pound mixed small Yukon Gold and red new potatoes, scrubbed
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 3 tablespoons good olive oil
- Sea salt
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
- Place the potatoes and 1 tablespoon salt in a large saucepan and add enough water to cover potatoes. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, and simmer for 17 to 20 minutes until the potatoes are tender when pierced with a skewer. Drain the potatoes and place on a sheet pan. With a potato masher or metal measuring cup, press each potato until it “smashes” to about ½ inch thick. Toss the potatoes with olive oil, 1 teaspoon salt, and ¾ teaspoon pepper.
- Roast the potatoes for 25 to 30 minutes, turning once, until the skins have become nicely browned.
- Warm up Good Foods Queso Style Dip in a small saucepan for a few minutes and then generously drizzle on the potatoes and serve hot.
Kebabs
Have the hen-durance to make it through Labor Day with these chicken (or steak) kebabs! Our Good Foods Tzatziki Style Dip makes the perfect “secret sauce” to amp up those savory flavors that we crave on a summer night. Just a drizzle (or two!) is all you need.
This Labor Day, we celebrate and thank all of the Good Foods employees who work so tirelessly to dream, craft, source and deliver the best foods we can.
